Each year at the house, we celebrate All Saints Day, or the Day of the Dead, throughout the month of November. In our prayers and on a board at the house, we remember the names of all of those who have gone before us–our loved ones, mentors, friends, heroes and heroines, and others. If you are at the house this week, we invite you to add on the board in the dining room or the book in the entry way the names of anyone you would like us to remember this month.
Tuesday, November 10
4:30-6pm: Scripture Study – Continuing our study of Luke’s gospel.
Wednesday, November 11
9am-6pm: Dorothy’s Cafe – Home-cooked meal in a restaurant style setting. We need folks to help chop veggies and set up the dining room between 9 and noon, serve between noon and 5pm, and help clean up after 5. Stop by and lend a hand and share some delicious soup and home-baked bread!
Thursday, November 12
6-7:30pm: Roundtable and Potluck Dinner – This week we will be having a very special Roundtable discussion. The topic is “Women in Islam,” and the prestigious & wonderful ladies of Islam on Campus (IOC) will be joining us for the discussion. This Roundtable will be ONLY OPEN TO WOMEN this week. It presents the opportunity for women across faith traditions to have a frank and open discussion, an interfaith dialogue, build new, cross-cultural friendships and gain a deeper understanding & appreciation of one another’s religious & spiritual beliefs, practices, and worldviews. Bring a dish to share if you can!
Friday, November 13
4:15-7am: Breakfast Brigade - Delicious and nutritious breakfast served to day-laborers at three different labor pools. Help bake bread, prepare fruit and boil eggs – all before the crack of dawn!
Saturday, November 14
3:30-7pm: Saturday football game – UF-South Carolina game at 3:30pm. JustFaith from Gainesville will again be providing snacks and beverages for football fans at the house this weekend! We host friends who might not have anywhere else to enjoy a Saturday game on television or who are looking for company for the game at the Blue House. (Our anti-consumerist practice of moderation means only one game each Saturday though.)

Every time I read or see the wonderful happenings going on at Dorothy’s Cafe I always wished I lived in Gainesville so I could be a regular contributor.
Blessings to all who share their talents in His name.
Thanks Margaret. You are always welcome to make a trip over and join us anytime! We are grateful for your support!

Mary Lea & I had a wonderful time spending the night with the delightful GCW community on Valentine’s Day. The family atmosphere, the beautiful kiddoes,” the metanoia girl & guy” truly illustrate the beauty of the Jubilee House !
Thanks for the word on the goat cheese. It was out of this world, especially the garlic chive! Did I “hear” right that it freezes? I can’t just have it readily available in the fridge!
Thanks
Enjoy your Much Deserved VACATION!!!!!!
