UPDATE: December 18

Dear friends,

Join us this Friday, at 7:00pm for a holiday party at the Gainesville Catholic Worker House! Everyone is invited. We’ll be decorating the tree, eating, listening to holiday music, hopefully stuffing holiday cards with our new newsletter, and more. Please bring a dish or food to share or drinks or whatever you would like to bring!

We have so many to thank from recent weeks: the youth group from UCG was great last night at the cafe; a BIG thanks to Ward from Servants of Christ who got our new shed put up for us; to Sheila for her support in getting the shed and fixing some plumbing problems; Chris Hardcastle and his family for all the blankets; all of you who have sent us an extra gift this holiday season to help us get thru a financially difficult period; and so many more! Thank you for blessing us with your kindness and care!

We hope that many of our former Breakfast Brigaders who are returning to Gainesville from college over the holiday break, will join us for Breakfast Brigade in the weeks to come. We continue Breakfast Brigade over the holidays, skipping only Christmas day and New Years Day which both fall on Tuesdays this year.

THIS WEEK:

TUESDAY – Breakfast Brigade, 4:15-7am. Join us in preparing a homemade breakfast of fresh-baked cinnamon-raisin bread, hard-boiled eggs, and fresh fruit, which we share with our friends at three area labor pools.

WEDNESDAY – Morning prayer, 7:15am.

THURSDAY – NO Roundtable discussions from now til the beginning of the Spring 2008 semester.

FRIDAY – Breakfast Brigade, 4:15-7am. Join us in preparing a homemade breakfast of fresh-baked cinnamon-raisin bread, hard-boiled eggs, and fresh fruit, which we share with our friends at three area labor pools.

Holiday Party at the GCW, 7pm. Join us in celebrating Christmas, Hanukah, Eid, Kwanzaa, et al! Bring a dish or food or drink to share and an ornament for the tree!

SUNDAY – NO Cafe til January!

In peace,

the GCW community
