HOUSE NEWS: The 1960’s Civil Rights Movement in Gainesville, Lent

For a detailed schedule of what’s happening at the Green House this week, please click here.

This week, we are excited to welcome Dan Harmeling and Carol Thomas, UF students during the 1960’s who were actively involved in the local civil rights movement here in Gainesville.  We’ll be briefly switching up the Lenten Reflection and Potluck on Thursday so we can hear Dan and Carol during a “Roundtable discussion and Potluck” from 6 to 7:30. We’ll follow up from 8-8:30 with Lenten prayer and reflection for those who would like to stay.

For those of you who want to share Lent with us on a daily basis, we are posting “Lenten Dailies” on this website each morning – words of wisdom from folks who’ve influenced us over the years.

And we also want to invite you to join us during this season of almsgiving by participating in a project at the House. Spring is usually a busy time for us; it would be great to have your help.
