THIS WEEK: Final ART FOR ALL prep, Cafe needs, and remembering Lent
ART FOR ALL – This Tuesday will be the final ART FOR ALL Workshop for this semester. We’ll be finishing projects already begun – making calendar gift bags and magazine page envelopes, sewing fabric “urban flowers,” knitting up some headbands and coffee cup cozies. After that, we’ll be down to tagging and organizing for the big sale on April 16-17, 1-5 each day. Mark your calendars!
On a related note, if you have sign-painting or glass-cutting skills, we need you! We have several gardens along 2nd Street on city property surrounding the parking lot. We would love to have some eye-catching, attractive signs that mark what’s growing and who it’s going to (we are hoping this will dissuade the “urban deer” who occasionally partake of the garden. And, I (Kelli) am still having trouble cutting mirrors to fit the lovely mosaic frames folks made for the A for A sale. I have a glass cutter, and it looks deceptively easy on youtube video. If you have this skill, please show me how!
CAFE HELP NEEDED: We could still use extra help at the cafe – both food prep and serving/clean-up. Please send us an email or give us a call if you would like to be on the roster. It’s a busy time for everyone, and we’re missing some of our main people; we could really use the extra help.
LENTEN PRACTICE – Also, a reminder – we’re posting regular lenten reflections daily on this website (here). They’re an eclectic collection of inspirational pieces that have moved us over the years, and we invite you to reflect on them with us. We’re still meeting Thursday evenings for a half hour of prayer in the contemplative tradition, followed by a potluck dinner. Please join us!
