What the Green House needs right now
As we prepare to reopen the Green House this week, we wanted to let you know some things that are needed, in case you or someone you know is in a position to help:
- An oven (we have one, but the other one died over the summer)
- Donations–and especially pledges for ongoing support. Checks can be made payable to the Gainesville Catholic Worker, and sent to 218 NW 2nd Ave., Gainesville, FL 32601
- Volunteers to help serve breakfast, Tuesdays and Fridays from 7-10am. Contact Daniel Loya at email@example.com if you would like to sign up.
- Donations of breakfast foods for our Tuesday and Friday breakfasts. Fruit, boiled eggs, baked goods, juice, oatmeal, and fair-trade coffee are all welcome. You can bring items Tuesdays and Fridays at 7am, drop off items on Monday and Thursday evenings between 6:30-8pm, or contact Daniel at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an alternate time.
Thank you for all the words of support and encouragement we have received, and for those who have already sent in donations. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. If you would like to join us for prayer, The Open Table community will be having its monthly prayer service and potluck tomorrow, Sunday, September 29, beginning at 4pm at the Green House. All are welcome.
